Airport Lunch
25th April, 2009
The Gladstone Engineering Alliance Inc. has applauded the GRC for their commitment to providing regular updates to the Gladstone Community as commencement of works on the $45 Million Airport Runway Reconstruction Project nears.
GEA Business Development Manager Kim Williams said: "The GEA are delighted to be offering, in partnership with Gladstone Regional Council, Golding Contractors and Qantaslink, an Industry focussed briefing luncheon on Wednesday 29 April which will provide a forum for GEA members and indeed any interested businesses to hear first hand of potential opportunities the project may provide to local enterprises."
"By providing opportunities of this nature, we can help ensure all sections of the Gladstone community remain informed of progress on this important project."
"The Industry Update Luncheon being coordinated by the GEA Events division will hear presentations from Gladstone Regional Council CEO, Graham Kanofski, Golding Contractors Area Manager, Jason Edge and Qantaslink Regional Sales Manager Chris Brooker, all of whom will address the project from a business perspective rather than a community interest perspective."
"This is a wonderful opportunity for not only GEA Members but businesses across the Gladstone Region to hear the most up to the minute information from the projects three major players, whilst also finding out more about potential opportunities for local businesses.
"If you are in business, you really need to be aware of the potential impacts the project may have on your business, issues such as;
- Will there ultimately be any disruption of flights?
- What outcomes can be expected at the completion of the project?
- What will the finished runway look like?
- What are the project timelines?
- What plans are in place for the re-routing of the road to Callemondah?
All of these issues and more will be addressed at the lunch."
"The GEA supports a strong local presence and is committed to promoting the local engineering sector and encouraging local businesses to take advantage of opportunities such as this project may provide."
